    Australian Idol 2009 Scott Newnham

This week feels a bit more real, like we're actually in Australian Idol, it's kind of settled in now, a lot more than it has previously.

We met up with Brian McFadden yesterday, that was awesome. He really helped. We only had about ten minutes with him but that ten minutes was really good. We went through my song twice. The song that I’m singing, "Kiss From A Rose", is an emotional song and I’m not used to singing with emotion. He’s really found a way for me to find emotion before I sing and to sing with emotion, so hopefully I’ll be able to deliver that on the night.

We’re all getting along really good. No fights yet. Been trying to keep fit, go for jogs, eating healthy and going to the beach. It’s really good, I’m enjoying it.

I’m head injury-less for this week. We’ve highlighted the corner where I hit my head, it says ‘Scott’s corner’ now, so no one’s going to hit that.

I’m a bit nervous with the song but I’m just going to practise heaps, like they said -  I’ve got to practise and sing in front of a mirror. I’ve always got the song ticking over in my head, so even if it looks like I’m not doing anything, I’ve got the song going through my head. You’ve got to still have fun, you can’t always be stressing, so I’m trying to find a balance between enjoying myself while taking this very seriously.

Hello to Montrose Football Club, you lost the Grand Final, I hate you. Nah, they tried their best but we lost, think we were missing a few players. Hi Mum, hi to all my friends, hi Sean.

Catch ya later,

Scott
