Mark and Tarisai's heated debate over whether or not she was "fake" continued after the show, but cameras kept rolling and she confronted him in his dressing room. We got a taste of the showdown tonight. "I'm really not happy at all," she told Mark, telling him that is she left tonight it would be his fault. Her fury, however, prompts Mark to tell her that he wanted to see that kind of anger on stage.
After the taped segment Tarisai, Mark and Dicko agreed to make up and "move on". "I'm sorry for yelling at you," she told Mark. "But everything I said was really, really true. I was angry."
Next up was a look at the Idols trip to last night's ARIA Awards, and afterwards Dicko commented that Matt had been sitting in a corner looking daunted at the award show after-party. Matt admitted that he was worried about the reaction from other artists to him being from a TV show. "Please don't feel in any way ashamed of this process," Dicko told him. "You are a success by any measure".
My Mum Rocks traveled to WA this week and the latest finalist named was Zoody Weir.
Then Ricki-Lee hit the stage – with eight energetic dancers – to perform her brand new single "Love Is All Around". "I'm so nervous," she told Andrew and James afterwards. "These guys [the contestants] are watching and these guys [the judges] are watching." She was then presented with a plaque for gold sales of her hit song "Can't Touch It".
The group performance saw our Idols singing the Dragon classic "April Sun In Cuba".
Finally it was time to reveal the Bottom 3 and Marty and Tarisai were immediately told they were in. Mark asked what time Marty had gotten home the night before. "About 6am," he replied. "If you do go … It's going to be quite a challenge to sing, isn't it mate?" Mark mused.
Carl was told he was safe next, and then it was to Natalie and Matt. After Natalie's Touchdown performance last night, she made a shock addition to the Bottom 3.
As seems to be the way every week, Marty was quickly told he was safe.
"I'll be devastated if Natalie goes," Mark announced, but pointed out that Ricki-Lee – who was voted out early in the 2004 series – had proved that you don't need to win to make a great career.
After a nail-biting ad break, Tarisai was told that it was her time to go. "I'm just really happy that I've come fifth out of 12," she said.
Mark, alluding to another possible showdown, asked for his driver to be waiting for him after the show.
Kyle was far more upset. "I think you are a better performer than some of the people we have left," he said.
Gracious in defeat, Tarisai's final performance showcased the amazing voice that has already taken her so far.
