Daniel_Mifsud: I learnt a lot about song choice. It would have been great to maybe choose a few better songs but all in all, I am stoked with how it finished and I felt I left on a really good note with all my mates. There was a lot of love when I left and that was really nice.
effie52: Your hair is so sexy! What shampoo do you use?
Daniel_Mifsud: It might shock people to know that I don't wash my hair all that often... every few days. It's all the natural wog oils in my hair!
Fasaria: Hi Daniel. Firstly, we are so sad to see you go but we know this is just only the beginning for you. Just heard you sing ‘Unconditionally’ on the radio. You sounded fantastic. What do you plan to do now?
Daniel_Mifsud: I would love to release an album... that would be great. If not, I would love to take advantage of any opportunities that will come my way. I've had a taste and I would love some more!
effie52: Do you have any weird or annoying habits?
Daniel_Mifsud: Yeah, the hand thing I do when I sing! I appreciate the love the Hand Jivers from the forum gave me... maybe I won't stop!
pushpop: Daniel, who do you think will win and who do you want to win?
Daniel_Mifsud: I think it's not surprising that Matt is the favourite and I would love him to win. But the rest of the guys I would love to win too - I think they are all fantastic.
OzBiroe: Hi Daniel. Do you think your life will be the same after Idol? How do you cope with the whole "famous" thing? Thank you for sharing your talent with us. All the best!
Daniel_Mifsud: That's nice... I hope it doesn’t change who I am but I would really love it if it changes what kind of work I am doing. I have had this taste of television and music and I would really love that to continue.
KimIdol: Hey Daniel, I was wondering will you be releasing any music or anything like that in the near future, and if so would you go solo or with a band? Would they be other Idols or just friends?
Daniel_Mifsud: Wow Kim... great question. I am really hoping to release something soon. I have some originals. Hopefully you will see me touring with a band because there is nothing better than performing with a big sound and a great bunch of mates.
rmn9478: Hi Daniel, if you were still in, what would you sing next week?
Daniel_Mifsud: I was going to sing ‘Fall At Your Feet’, Crowded House.
Pushpop: Who was your closet Idol in the house?
Daniel_Mifsud: I was really close to all the boys, especially the last few weeks. Carl, Ben, Matt and Marty... we were all really tight.
zoomgal: Hi Daniel. What is your favourite colour and how old were you when you started to sing?
Daniel_Mifsud: Awesome. Green is definitely my favourite colour. I started to sing in a school choir when I was 8 or 9 but I didn't start singing properly until I was about 15.
rmn9478: Was it tough facing the judges?
Daniel_Mifsud: Nah... over my life I have learnt to deal with criticism. You take the valuable stuff and combine it with what you think of your own performance and with both those things, you should have stuff to improve on.
sarahb95: Will you go back to teaching at school?
Daniel_Mifsud: I might go back and visit at some point in time. That would be a lot of fun. Fingers crossed though, there might be some other really exciting things happening too.
idol-girl-in-08: What’s your favourite milkshake flavour?
Daniel_Mifsud: Lime. Great question. Easily.
idol-girl-in-08: Who has been the biggest musical influence in your life so far?
Daniel_Mifsud: [Big think...] the list is too endless. Everything from family and friends... I try and take something from every musician I come into contact with - whether it's listening to my Dad as a musician, or the records my Mum played me. I try and take bits from everywhere.
idol-girl-in-08: What do you like to do in your spare time?
Daniel_Mifsud: I just like to hang out with mates, go play basketball and I love going to gigs.
sarahb95: What were you feeling just before they read out who would be going home?
Daniel_Mifsud: I don't know... I guess I was trying not to think at all. I was just trying to clear my thoughts.
luvyt13693: Hey Daniel. Congratulations, you've done so well. Was it weird one day just teaching music, then the next day, you're a celebrity? Good Luck with everything!
Daniel_Mifsud: Yeah it is weird I guess! It's a nuts feeling. It's really great to be appreciated - whether it's from your students or people who love your singing... it's just nice to feel the love.
Shaey-Maree: What was it hard losing someone every week? And how are you handling it?
Daniel_Mifsud: It was really hard. You get really close in the house and seeing someone leave is like having a really good mate move away. I am dealing with it by remembering the great times. I was really grateful for the send off. It's nice to leave with great memories of Monday night.
bobarr: Hi Daniel, what was it like working with Andrew G?
Daniel_Mifsud: Oh, he is hot stuff. He's a great guy. He has a really great passion for music, so that makes things a lot of fun.
bobarr: Do you get nervous when you sing up on stage?
Daniel_Mifsud: I do, but it's combined with a lot of excitement. It's a great adrenalin rush to just get up there and know everything you’re doing is being broadcast across the country. I have done it 11 times in the last few months, which is an amazing feeling.
fan4lyf: How did you feel after you were eliminated from Idol?
Daniel_Mifsud: I was overwhelmed by the response from the other contestants and that made it a really special moment for me. When they chaired me on their shoulders, that was really overwhelming - I loved them for that. It was so unexpected.
sarahb95: What was your favourite performance?
Daniel_Mifsud: I think it was a combination between ‘Fire’, the Hendrix song and ‘Message in a Bottle’ by The Police.
thekersy100: What's been the highlight of your time on Idol so far?
Daniel_Mifsud: One, meeting Mossy, Ian Moss. That was great. The guys - the friendships. Just building the friendships with the guys in the 12, the last 6 - I really feel we will be friends for a long time and to go through an experience like Idol together is really special. The other one is visiting Ronald McDonald House - it was amazing to see that just by singing, you can actually make a difference in someone's life... that was really special.
sunrise81: Really proud to be one of your fans Dan. So, what are you planning to do after this?
Daniel_Mifsud: I am going to keep trying to make you guys proud with an album and by putting my hat in the ring with anything else that comes my way.
sarahb95: Are you happy with how far you have come?
Daniel_Mifsud: I am just so stoked! To make the Final 6 feels like a great achievement. So many people tried out for it, so it feels like a nice thing.
Shaey-Maree: What does it feel like to be noticed on the streets?
Daniel_Mifsud: It's lovely - it's really great. Special.
idol-girl-in-08: If you could go back, would you change anything you did?
Daniel_Mifsud: Pretty much, I am happy with most of how I went. I would probably reassess some of my song choices and try and choose ones that highlighted my voice more appropriately, but all in all I wouldn't trade my place in the competition with anyone - it's been amazing.
funkymonkey727: What, in your opinion, was the best thing about getting this far on Idol?
Daniel_Mifsud: Probably getting the exposure of doing 11 performances on national TV. If someone told me that I would be doing that this year, I wouldn't have believed them. Getting to the other side of that feels like an accomplishment.
amanda2705: Hey Daniel, what type of an artist do you wanna be? (PS you have a lovely voice) xxx
Daniel_Mifsud: Thanks for that! That's nice of you. I would love to put out stuff that's a combination of rock/soul stuff... if you combine Lenny Kravitz with John Mayer, I would meet somewhere in the middle.
Daniel_Mifsud: Just want to let everyone know, I just want to clear the air in case there is a misunderstanding. I would never come out and defame one of my fellow contestants. Not even for a million bucks would I put their name through the mud. Just remember that some of things you may hear sometimes are not necessarily true. This is one of those occasions.
Thanks so much for all of your support, messages and votes. I literally wouldn't be here without you guys and I hope I can do you all proud with singing my heart out and doing the best with whatever the future holds.
