bigtrev32: Hi Brianna - How you been today? You were unlucky to leave so early - rock wasn't your style but you performed much better last night.
Brianna_Carpenter: Thank you! The sound was good last night. We fixed the foldback issues and I was very impressed... and happy!

ClownConfetti: What did you think of the harsh comments of the judges?
Brianna_Carpenter: Well, they're here to make a TV show so you expect them to be harsh. Behind the scenes they are much nicer than they appear on TV. It's best not to take things too seriously and just have fun with it!

Jotablue: Hey Brianna! What song were you gonna sing next week?
Brianna_Carpenter: "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" - Leo Sayer. And I met him at the McDonalds Ball the other night which was crazy! And he's very short.

Emmhor says: How does it feel, to know so many people have fallen in love with your voice, your personality, and what you represent in life?
Brianna_Carpenter: WOW... Feels pretty good! [Laughs] That's amazing! I didn't think I would make such an impact in such a small amount of time.

Mimi-Lee: Who were you the closest to?
Brianna_Carpenter: Matt Corby in the spa! HAHA. Nah, probably Natalie and Holly... and Ben McKenzie.

Jotablue: What did you think of the media during Idol?
Brianna_Carpenter: I think that it's a whole lot of gossip and these people are bored and they're looking for a story when there isn't one. But it's pretty funny.

amanda-renee: Do you believe that some of the other contestants are cheating as far as changing genres?
Brianna_Carpenter: : No... I don't think so. Because if you're going to release a CD at the end of it, you're going to release a CD in the genre you are comfortable with. You need to let the public know what your style is. So if it's Rock week and you put a swing vibe on it, that is a fair representation of who you are.

idol-girl-in-08: How did you pick the songs you wanted and get the arrangements? Is there like a big computer in the Idol house full of any songs and the music you need?
Brianna_Carpenter: No! It's very much based on what I like to listen to. I have a LOT of songs on my iPod and iTunes and I would put it on shuffle and listen to it all day. And if I heard something I loved that fit the genre, I would think, "Oh yeah!"

loddi990: OMG I LOVE U SOOOOO MUCH!!!! I CANT BELIEVE YOU’RE GONE… WHY??? PLEASE BRING OUT MUSIC. WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR ALBUM WILL BE LIKE?
Brianna_Carpenter:  I will bring out music as soon as I possibly can. I have enough songs for three albums at the moment. It would be a mix between jazz, pop and folk.

davidrox2007: How did you feel about all the horrible things people said about you - like you and Matt as a couple. Do you think it affected the votes?
Brianna_Carpenter: It really didn't bother me at all. I don't take it too seriously. I think if you do, it will mess with your head. I think the people that would vote for me in the first place wouldn't believe that sort of thing.

hunnibunni14: What do you plan to do now that you’re out of Australian Idol?
Brianna_Carpenter: I'm going to take two weeks break… then after that, I am going to finish off recordings that I have on the backburner, working with a friend of mine. Then I am going to start gigging. I am going to do an East Coast tour and then over to Perth hopefully... I seem to have some fans over there!

georgie00: Hi Brianna, what have you been doing since you left the Idol house?
Brianna_Carpenter: Today I woke up at 4:30 in the morning and packed my bag... or bags... or five bags! I came here with two bags! I have been doing publicity all day - lots of radio interviews and a photo shoot, and now I am relaxing and I get to go home tonight!

scrumdidly: Your clothes are really pretty. What inspired your sense of fashion?
Brianna_Carpenter: Kids! I love the way kids dress and how they have so much colour. Apart from kids being really cute, I think that's why people smile when they look at kids- because they are so colourful. Everyone should be like that, not just kids. I like to feel pretty and I like making people smile!

Violaine: What has been the most invaluable thing you learnt whilst on Idol?
Brianna_Carpenter:  How to work the cameras. How to look at a camera and try to portray the emotion. It's easy on stage because I am used to that - using my facial expressions in a big way so the audience can see it. Whereas on camera, I learnt to try and focus on that it's just one person watching… and you don't need to do as much.

elisec92: Brianna, do you have any regrets for your song choices?
Brianna_Carpenter:  Nope! None. They're all songs that I love and I really enjoyed them. That's just my taste in music!

Votevotevote: What is your favourite song of all time?
Brianna_Carpenter: OH MY GOD! [Thinks] That is a very hard question. Probably... Jeff Buckley - Mojo Pin.

ClownConfetti: Who do you think will win Idol this year?
Brianna_Carpenter: Probably one of the boys because it's a boy-heavy show this year... and the way it's going so far! I think Daniel Mifsud is in with a chance because he appeals to the younger teens and he also has that daytime soap star thing for the older women. And he's also fantastic!

dimistar15: How was it living in the Australian Idol mansion?
Brianna_Carpenter: It was the best house EVER! And we had our own House Manager who would cook anything you wanted to eat, so you would come down to breakfast and ask for things and you'd get them.... without cooking.... it was amazing! The personalities were really diverse and that was really hard and I sometimes needed my own space but everyone was really considerate so it was great!

chocoholic101: Has anyone inspired you and your music?
Brianna_Carpenter:  Regina Spektor, Bjork - I really respect her individuality and attitude. She's crazy but it works. And Elton John.

georgiarose1994: Are Dicko, Mark and Kyle as mean as they sound on TV?
Brianna_Carpenter:  Not at all... Mark's a bit vague... but they're much nicer backstage and they're like big kids.

amanda-renee: If you could replace any one judge with Molly Meldrum, which judge would you replace?
Brianna_Carpenter:  Molly... is that you? I'd say probably Mark Holden. Although they'd probably be as bad as each other!

hunnibunni14: Who was the house clown?
Brianna_Carpenter:  100% MARTY SIMPSON. He is a funny man and so very inappropriate.

loddi990: Why do you believe it is good to be an individual?
Brianna_Carpenter:  Because if you weren't... you'd be boring! What's the point of living if you're going to be boring! You have to be an individual so you stay sane. Or insane, I guess! Whichever works for you!

idol-girl-in-08: What would be your tips or comments for any aspiring future Idols?
Brianna_Carpenter:  Don't take it too seriously, have a good time and sing exactly what you want to sing!

georgiarose1994: Was Matt Corby as hot in real life as he is on the TV?
Brianna_Carpenter:  Yes.... for a 16 year old boy, I guess!

Erinhope: Brianna - did your visual style develop slowly over time, or did you just wake up one day and decide to express yourself in a new creative way?
Brianna_Carpenter:  A+ for the well formed question! I used to be a tomboy who wore surfie boardshorts and really bad t-shirts. And then I looked at myself in the mirror... nah, as I got older I became more artistic and more sure of what I wanted to be. With that territory came the style. I can't draw so this is the way I express myself - with fun clothes.

chocoholic101: Do you design all of your clothes? If you don't, then which shops do you like to shop at?
Brianna_Carpenter: I design a fair bit of stuff, with the help of my Mum. That works well. When I do shop, I am not picky about where I shop, it's more about looking in the windows of shops and seeing if there's anything that grabs me. Patterns, colours, I don't discriminate from store to store. But one of the best places to shop in Brisbane is Mombassa!

Emmhor: Has anyone begun to treat you like a celebrity yet?
Brianna_Carpenter: My dog! [Laughs] People that I don't know that well sorta have. Definitely people in the street... they come up to me and don't know what to say! But people that know me won't treat me any differently.

Jotablue: What did you think of the Idol wardrobe and what they presented you with?
Brianna_Carpenter: I dressed myself pretty much all the time. Sheridan the stylist had some really great stuff that I wore as well, but it was all stuff that I picked out of his wardrobe. He had some great ideas though and was great to work with.

Votevotevote: If you weren't gonna be a singer, what do you see yourself as?
Brianna_Carpenter: Probably a fashion designer or a photographer.

elisec92: Who inspired you to come on Idol?
Brianna_Carpenter:  Mostly Bobby Flynn and the movement towards original music that happened last year. Before that, I wouldn't have considered it.

Emmhor: What did you hope Australia saw in you through Idol?
Brianna_Carpenter: That I was FUN and that I had original compositions... and that I had a good taste in music!

Brianna_Carpenter: Listen guys, thanks heaps! It's been really cool chatting to you all and I hope you continue to check out what I'm doing and I'll keep you all updated as to what I'm doing and where I'm touring! See ya later! Brianna x
