Our trip to Melbourne was great, it was an experience and a half. We got to perform outdoors live at a concert and the fans were there, it was awesome.
We flew home yesterday and it's back into workshops - busy, busy, busy, but I'm enjoying it. Sunday should be good, going back to the 80s and sing some old school stuff. I used to sing a lot of these songs back in the day when mum and dad used to go away. I'd get all excited and listen to all their records and tapes and rewind them and that made us feel really good. The song I'm singing is a make you feel good song and it's a nice song that I'm going to put a bit of a feminine touch to. I'm looking forward to it, it'll be different from last week so it's good to change it up. I'm learning more and more, the more emotion you pour out and the more you tell a story, the better it is for the people, they really love it, so I just want to give them more of it.
The skates came out yesterday, it brought back heaps of memories because that's how I used to get around all the time, on a pushy or skates. It was good fun. It's always fun shooting the profiles, we never know what we're bloody doing. 80s, we were thinking, 'Oh my God, what's it going to be?' and the roller skates came out. They were going to chuck some little shorts on me and I said, 'Nah, I don't think so, just the skates will do, hey!' It was good fun.
My washing is piling up so I'm going to go home and do some washing, have a rest and recharge. It's the first afternoon we've had off in over a week now, so it'll be good to get a bit of down time. Stan and I went for a swim in the pool the other day - it was freezing.
G'day to all my family and friends and fans - love yous all and I can't wait to be on the road doing my country thing and get to a town near you and get my music out there.
Cheers,
Kate
