I got to go and see John Mayer, so that’s like a childhood dream because I’m the biggest Mayer fan. So that was just awesome.
I got to see him perform at The Chapel in Sydney. That was just wicked and he played some of his old stuff and some of his new stuff so that was really cool.
This week I guess probably the biggest thing is what happened with Toby and everything. I got a bit of a lifeline this week. I wasn’t really supposed to be here, but I’ve been pretty lucky. I think I’ve got to embrace it and use it. I’ve been given a second chance so I’m definitely lucky.
About Toby pulling out – I think it was up to him. I think it was right for him. It was a massive decision. But Toby’s one of those guys who just goes with his heart and knows what’s right. He just saw that there are four other people here who really wanted it and he knew that this probably wasn’t what he wanted. So he passed on the opportunity, which is really kind of selfless and I think it’s really great that he did it – lucky for me I guess!
We’ve got a few songs to learn this week. I guess we’ve got four songs including the group song so it’s a fair bit of work. I’m singing “More Than Words” by Extreme, “Learn To Fly” by the Foo Fighters and “Hold The Line” by Toto. It’s been a bit more about the music this week and a bit more about the show, which is good because last week was just about a lot of red carpet stuff so it’s good to get back to what we’re here for.
