    Australian Idol 2009

I’m really good. This week has been full-on. It’s probably the most hectic week we’ve had since I’ve been in Idol.

On Monday we got to do all the workshops. On Tuesday we went to a red carpet event for Blackberry which was pretty cool. Benji and Joel from Good Charlotte were there. We didn’t get to meet them at that time which was a bit of a shame. We didn’t get a free Blackberry which I was a bit devo about – I thought that was the reason we went, but no.

Yesterday we went to the KFC concert and we got to go to the school which was awesome. We got to perform for all of the school kids and they just flipped out, they were going crazy. All the teachers were being typical school teachers and all of the kids were getting in trouble, but it was good fun, I loved it.

We came back and had a photo shoot with the Good Charlotte boys and I got talking to Joel for about 15 minutes. He’s just a real cool, down-to-earth guy, and Benji was there for a bit. They’re just real chilled dudes and real nice dudes.

We went to the red carpet for the MJ movie premiere which was a lot of fun. It was a great movie, incredible movie and incredible footage just to see what he was going to start to do.

What else did we do? Today we were at this Wharf 4 Ward, Sony Foundation's putting it all on for kids who have dealt with cancer but don’t have the facilities. It’s great to be performing here. We got to meet all the kids and jump on a boat and just meet some people who have been involved in CanTeen pretty heavily. So that was really cool.

Friday we get to meet the Good Charlotte boys and do the workshops with them so that should be a lot of fun and we’ve got some things happening today as well with Channel Ten. Too many things to think of, too full on!

It’s been a lot of fun. I’ve got my songs ready. I’m doing “Daughters” by John Mayer and “This is How a Heart Breaks” by Rob Thomas so this is very much my style and the kind of album that I want to make. So I’m just looking forward to doing that to be honest. Whatever happens, if the judges like it or not, I’m just looking forward to performing what I feel is kind of my stuff on the show.

That’s about it! Thanks for everyone for supporting us still. You’re all great, I love you all. Everyone from Wingham and Taree and Newcastle and all my friends and family – you guys rock and I love you all. Thank you once again.

James
