Week Two

Hi guys,

Hope everyone is well. Sunday night’s show was really exciting - the first time on the big stage! I sung "These Words" by Natasha Bedingfield. I had fun with it and tried my best. I don't think that I did an amazing job, but it was still a lot of fun.

We all woke up Monday morning feeling terrible – it's so nerve-racking, and there are so many emotions. It was sad to see Jonny go. Now we have an empty bed in the house. It's sad to see our little family being broken up.

We had The McDonalds Charity Ball last Saturday night. It was such a great experience to perform on-stage; I got to wear a hot pink dress that I loved. I really liked the Ball because we were there for a cause and everyone was really passionate about the McDonalds donations.

This week I'm really excited to perform for ‘80s week. It's going to be a lotta fun, and even though I’m not gonna be wearing shoulder pads or fluro, I'm still gonna try and rock out to an ‘80s track!

I really appreciate everyone voting for me – I feel really privileged, and thank you to everyone who respects what I do and enjoys my performances.

Hi to my family and friends and two sisters, Carla and Loretta.

Thanks for reading, see you next week

Week One

Hey all,

It’s still sinking in that I’m a part of the Final 12, even though it’s been announced and everything. I watch the show every year, and now I’m in it!

We moved into the house, and it’s really cool - it even has a lift in it, which is really exciting. I share a room with Sophie and Chrislyn. We have our house manager, Sam, to look after us. He’s like a mum, cuz he makes us food and does hugs.

We had the Channel Ten launch party on Tuesday night, which was really fun, and made me feel like I was actually in the Final 12. Lots of people were taking photos and asking us for our autographs. We didn’t meet many famous people, but my favourite part was meeting Carl Risely from the last series of Idol. He was so nice and was really supportive of us. We got to sing too, and that was really cool, and we got introduced to lots of media people. They were saying they liked the show, so that was encouraging.

We did a Mazda shoot yesterday, which was a laugh because me and Sophie can’t whistle so we couldn’t stop laughing at ourselves. We also had our first proper workshop with John and Erina for our first Final 12 show, to work out our arrangements. I was really happy with my arrangements. It’s really fantastic working with such established musicians, and having people in the music industry giving us ideas, and encouraging us to grow and expand in the way we think about music.

I was sad when some of the wildcards didn’t get a chance to perform again, and the ones who did didn’t get in. I was close to Olly, Amanda and Nicole, and would have liked to move into the house with them, but we’ll keep in contact.

Today we went over “Can You Feel It” for the McDonalds Ball on Saturday. I’ve sung that song a million times, but now I have a new line to learn so that’s what I’ve gotta do tonight.

Thanks everyone for supporting me, I really appreciate it. Hi to all my friends at school, I miss you all.

Brooke.
